Special to The PREVIEW
Did you know chili is Irish? OK, I guess it really isn’t, but we are combining the two anyway. March provides chili-eating weather, as well as shamrocks and leprechauns, so why not enjoy it all?
The Mt. Allison Grange Annual Chili Contest is open for anyone to enter on Saturday, March 7.
There will be three categories: red chili, green chili and miscellaneous. Besides having a winner in each of those categories, there will also be a “People’s Choice” award.
It is chili weather now, so start practicing.
If you prefer to eat chili instead of cook it, you are welcome to come be a judge. All the entries will be served free of charge to the community starting at 5:30 p.m.
Once tummies are full, there will be Irish bingo with fun prizes to win. And for those with a sweet tooth, homemade baked goods will be available to purchase.
If you are interested in entering the chili contest, please contact Yvonne Chapman at 799-3064 or Shirley Engler at 883-2483, or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
