Dine out and help United Way

The groundhog saw his shadow, so winter is supposed to hang around for a while.

That crazy holiday with all of the hearts and candies and super sweetness is also right around the corner.

Pagosa has amazing restaurants.

We all just need to get out from time to time, right?

Those are four great reasons for you to buy United Way Dining Certificates.

Never heard of them? They are a great partnership between local nonprofits, local restaurants and people who like to eat. How it works: You can purchase certificates for $20 each at our nonprofit partners (Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program, Axis Health, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging and Seeds of Learning) or at the Chamber of Commerce, the Pagosa Lakes Recreation Center, or the Ross Aragon Community Center. Then, redeem them at almost any restaurant in town (a list of participating restaurants is found on the certificates or at unitedway-swco.org).

You can spend it like $20 cash at participating restaurants. The restaurants then donate $4 from each redeemed certificate to United Way of Southwest Colorado to help support critical programs in Archuleta County.

Please help out. We want to sell 1,000 certificates before the end of March. We have a distance to go, but we can reach that goal with your help. If everyone in the county buys just one, we will more than surpass our goal.

Help us continue our good work for the community — go get your certificates today.
