Children of Aikido of the San Juans enjoyed a special class with rigorous training on Saturday, Dec. 13.

The class celebrated the birthday of Morihei Ueshiba, aikido’s founder. After training, children and their parents enjoyed photos and pizza.

Instructors Lisa Jensen and Bill Trimarco just returned from Japan, where they spent one month as live-in students at the Ibaraki Shibu dojo in Iwama, learning from some of the top aikido instructors in the world, many of whom began their training under aikido’s founder.
