A delegation from Club 20 traveled to Pagosa Springs last week in order to hold a caucus and present information about the recent work of the organization.

There are 22 counties in western Colorado that participate in Club 20, and every other year 11 of them hold a caucus in each county to elect a voting member to represent the county.

During last week’s caucus, which took place at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, in the conference room at Boss Hogg’s, local businessman J.R. Ford was elected as the voting member from Archuleta County, while Mary Jo Coulehan was elected as the first alternative.

While both Ford and Coulehan continue to hold the positions they had previously occupied, Cindi Galabota was newly elected as the second alternative voting member for the county, since the person previously elected for that position has moved away.

Once the elections were completed, Bonnie Petersen, the executive director for Club 20, answered questions about the organization and what it does.
