Village land swap decision delayed

Those waiting on the U.S. Forest Service decision on a land swap on Wolf Creek Pass for developers of the Village at Wolf Creek will have to wait a bit longer.

“The final environmental impact statement and the draft record of decision are currently being reviewed by specialists in our regional and Washington offices. The review process is taking longer than anticipated,” said Mike Blakeman, public affairs specialist with the Rio Grande National Forest.

In an email to SUN staff, Blakeman said there is no set timeline for the decision, but that the office should be getting close “as long as nothing turns up during the review process that requires the Forest to do further analysis.”
