Debate over wildfire funding heats up

Several members of the U.S. House of Representatives are working toward forcing a vote regarding the Wildfire Disaster Funding Act of 2014 (H.R. 3992), before their scheduled recess in August begins.

Last Friday, July 11, Scott Peters, D-Calif., filed a motion to discharge the committees on the budget, agriculture, and natural resources from the consideration of H.R. 3992. The bill was referred to the committees in February, where it has been under review ever since.
