Special to The PREVIEW
The Americana Project is super excited to have the incredible Jaden Carlson and her band for a special, one-night concert on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Pagosa Springs High School auditorium
Jaden has been blowing minds with her guitar playing for the past seven years. That doesn’t seem like a real long time, but it’s over half her life (she just turned 13).
This past summer, she played with both Michael Franti and Blues Traveler, making her the youngest person to perform on the Red Rocks stage. Her trio has been making a big splash all over the country and is currently recording its next album.
The Americana Project students will be opening the show, as well as joining Jaden and her band for the closing song.
Clint Shaw’s Advance Art Class will be displaying their art in the commons. Some of his students will also be “painting the music” live on stage during the concert.
Snacks and drinks will be for sale during intermission and Jaden’s CDs will be available after the show.
Chairs donated by some of our talented local artists for the upcoming Americana Project Fundraiser will also be on display in the commons. The auctioning of these chairs will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, at the new gazebo on Reservoir Hill. Please come out and help us support creativity in the youth of Pagosa Springs.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for 13- to 18-year-olds, and 12 and under are free. Tickets are available only at the door. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
