On Thursday, March 27, the San Juan Stargazers will meet to hear Janet Clawson-Cano talk about Dine astronomy and constellations at 7 p.m. at the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce on Hot Springs Boulevard.

Clawson-Cano, environmental educator at Navajo Lake, will also tell us about local astronomical rock art. It should be an interesting evening expanding our knowledge of astronomy to include the Native American culture.

We will also spend time learning about CRIA’s new telescopes and equipment that will greatly improve the night sky and moon viewing plus programs this summer at Chimney Rock National Monument. We encourage everyone from Pagosa to come to one of these programs this summer.

San Juan Stargazers are part of the Astronomical League. We welcome visitors and new members. Also check out our website at
