Special to The PREVIEW
Due to last weekend’s adverse weather, the Pagosa Nordic Club had to reschedule the third-annual Pagosa Nordic Spring Quad Challenge, which is now set for this Sunday, March 9.
Participants can race as a solo racer or in teams of up to four. The first race leg is a 10 km freestyle X-C ski (classic ski or skate ski) at the West Fork Nordic ski trail, then a 5 km road run from the West Fork trailhead to the chain station at the base of Wolf Creek Pass, where racers will begin a 22 km road bike back to town and finish with a one-half km swim at The Springs Resort pool.
This has been one of Pagosa Nordic’s most popular races.
Racers will meet at the Chamber of Commerce building in town before racers head out to the West Fork Nordic ski trail for the race start at 9 a.m. Race course map, registration and more information is available at pagosanordic.com.
You do not have to be a professional athlete to participate in the Quad Challenge. This is a working man’s race; so come on out join us for this great fun athletic challenge.
