Registration for this year’s final session of gymnastics will open tomorrow and close Nov. 11 (or when classes are full).
Through an ongoing partnership with Pagosa Springs Middle School and local instructor Jennifer Martin, the Town of Pagosa Springs Recreation Department is offering this program for ages 3 and up. Classes, which will be strictly limited to no more than 10 students per age group, begin Nov. 12 and will run through Dec. 20.
Cost is $35 for the complete session, but parents will also have the option to pay $70 if they wish to have children in appropriate age groups attend two sessions per week (Tuesday and Thursday sessions, for example). Classes will be held in the middle school “mat room” (wrestling room) according to the following schedule:
Classes for ages 6 and 7 will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-4:50 p.m. Classes for ages 8 and 9 will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-5:50 p.m. Classes for ages 10 and up will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-6:50 p.m.
In addition, classes will be held Fridays from 2-2:50 p.m. for ages 3-5 and from 3-3:50 p.m. for intermediate students (students in this class will need to be pre-approved by instructor).
There will also be an open-gym session available Fridays from 4-5 p.m. for ages 6 and up (younger students may attend with a parent) at an additional drop-in cost of $5 per session.
Registrations will be available at the recreation office in Town Hall and will also be posted in Adobe format on the recreation department page at www.townofpagosasprings.com.

Rosters for this year’s 7- and 8-year-old youth basketball have been finalized and teams have begun to practice.
Games do not begin until Nov. 12; schedules are available online through the recreation department link at www.townofpagosasprings.com. Parents who have not yet heard from a head coach should call the office to obtain roster information and practice schedules.
Please note that registration for the 9-10 and 11-12 divisions will begin in mid-November; the season for these divisions will not begin until early January.
For more information, call 264-4151, Ext. 231 or 232.
Due to a lack of adequate gym space, this year’s youth volleyball season for ages 9-12 has been postponed until next spring.
The tentative plan is to have registration begin in February and the season to begin sometime in late March or early April (immediately after the youth basketball season for ages 9-12).
For more information, please contact the recreation office at 264-4151, Ext. 232.
This year’s youth soccer photo packages are being processed at Pagosa Photography.
Parents who ordered photos can stop by the studio at 480 San Juan St. in downtown Pagosa Springs or contact Jeff Laydon at 264-3686 to check the status of orders.
Sponsors will be provided with their commemorative plaques as soon as team photos become available.
