Ballots are in the mail, so if you know you are registered, you should have your ballot by now. If you have not received your ballot in the mail, the Archuleta County Election’s Office probably does not have your correct mailing address.

Per law, ballots cannot be forwarded.

As of Monday, the office had mailed out around 8,100 ballots and only 1,500 had come back.

As a reminder, all elections for Colorado will now be by mail. We will still use the Election’s Office as the one and only Voter Service and Polling Center for voters to come and receive replacement ballots. We will be issuing replacements up to and including Election Day, Nov. 5. Make sure you bring acceptable ID.

The Election’s Office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be open Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to noon. It will also be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the Monday prior to Election Day, which is new this year.

The Voter Service and Polling Place is in the basement of the courthouse located at 449 San Juan St. It is easier to access from the back of the building.

If you have not registered to vote and have moved here from another Colorado county, you need to come into the office and we can register you and issue a ballot. You must present acceptable ID.

Ballots are no longer being mailed because of the timeframe we need to receive them back in time to be counted, but you may still pick one up.

All ballots must be back by 7 p.m. on Nov. 5. Postmarks do not count.

You may also drop ballots off in the Motor Vehicle Office, on the ground floor of the courthouse.
