Pagosa senior men golfers fare well at tournament

    It is easily said that there is golf talent among the ranks of local Pagosans who frequent the Pagosa Springs Golf Club.

    Senior men golfers traveled to the Rio Grande Club for two days of tournament play on Tuesday and Wednesday last week, with the Northern New Mexico Senior Men’s Golf Association.

    On Aug. 20, in the Championship Flight, John Hudson won Second Net (71). In the First Flight, Bob Oliver won First Net (68) and Jerry McKee won Second Net (72). In the Third Flight, Ranza Boggess won First Net (65). With the distinction of being Closest to Pin, Dale Crumpton won Hole No. 6 and Bob Oliver won Hole No. 12.

    On the second day of play, Wednesday, in the First Flight, Jerry McKee won Second Gross (80). In the Fourth Flight, Ranza Boggess won Second Net (74). In the Fifth Flight, Ken Bailey won Second Net (720). And winning Closest to Pin were John Hudson on Hole No. 8, and Jim Easley on Hole No. 14.
