A Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) team, including the board and the staff, are currently working to add a new Primary Care Clinic to the PSMC campus.

According to a case statement by the PSMC team, the current clinic is expected to receive 15,000 patient visits by the end of 2013. With the recent closure of Dr. Jim Pruitt’s clinic on June 27, as well as Dr. Bob Brown no longer providing primary care in the community, PSMC is expecting to add 3-4,000 more patients to the PSMC clinic roles. In order to serve the added number of patients, the PSMC clinic will need to add two to three more medical professionals, bringing the total to nine, as well as eight to 10 new exam rooms, bringing the total number of exam rooms to 14-16.
