Spring has sprung and it is time for residents of Pagosa Springs to do their spring cleaning.

Mayor Ross Aragon and the Town of Pagosa Springs welcome all town residents to participate in the annual cleanup week. This program is for town residential properties only. If you have a question as to whether or not your property is located in town limits, refer to www.townofpagosasprings.com for a map of town boundaries.

Dumpsters will be located at 703 South 5th St. at the Streets Department maintenance yard. The site will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday May 13-18. Please make sure to bring identification proving town residency.

A change to this year’s program is that the town crews will not pick up refuse items from the curbside. Residents must take their refuse to the maintenance shop located on South 5th Street. Please make sure that items being transported to the town shop for dumping are covered during transit.

The town will not accept household trash, tires, hazardous materials, engines, batteries, appliances with Freon or building/construction materials.

Removal of junk vehicles can be coordinated by calling Rita Prokop at Town Hall at 264-4151, Ext. 238. Not all vehicles are guaranteed to be removed. Proof of ownership will be required.

Hilltop Cemetery cleanup is scheduled for May 20-24. No Dumpsters will be provided at the cemetery.

As in past years, the Town of Pagosa Springs Police Department and the town building official will issue nuisance notices to property owners who have junk or litter on their premises after the annual cleanup week.

If a resident is unable to take items to the Dumpsters due to a hardship, they should call Town Hall at 264-4151, Ext. 238, to coordinate assistance. Town staff will confirm all hardships and, if valid, will coordinate town crew assistance while the resident is present during pickup.

If you have questions or comments, call Town Hall at 264-4151, Ext. 238.

Let’s keep Pagosa Springs beautiful!
