An e-mail sent this afternoon by school district superintendent Mark DeVoti advises that all after-school activities in the district are cancelled today, Wednesday, Feb. 20.
DeVoti’s message includes the statement that, “Students and staff to go home at end of day. County closing at 2, so no plow support after buses.”
A call to Archuleta County officials indicates that, while county offices close at 2 p.m. (the court offices will remain open), Road and Bridge plow operations will, in fact, not completely cease at 2 p.m. today. The department will have three sand/and plow trucks out after the school buses start their runs. Full plowing operations will commence again at 2 a.m.
