Special to The PREVIEW
The Pagosa Springs Photography Club will meet Wednesday, Feb. 13, at SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts, 333 Bastille Drive.
Join us for socializing starting at 6 p.m., followed by the program, photo critiquing and business meeting at 6:30.
The Pagosa Photo Club is pleased to present this month’s program, “Photographing the Weather,” by John Farley.
This will be a Power Point slideshow oriented toward photographing interesting weather phenomena. John retired in 2006 after 29 years as a sociology professor at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. He focuses now on some of his main post-retirement activities: photography, the study and observation of weather and lecturing. John is also this month’s guest artist at Pagosa Photography Gallery, 480 San Juan St.
A photo exhibit is held during each club meeting. This month we will have only an open category, where any subject is allowed. Members can enter as many as six prints or 12 digital images on a flash card. Club president Al Olson will lead the critique of photos. It will be done as a group rather than by specified judges.
The Photography Club meets the second Wednesday of each month from September through May at 6 p.m. at SHY RABBIT. Photography enthusiasts are welcome to attend at no charge for the first meeting. If interested, you are invited to join for annual dues of just $20 for an individual, $30 for a family, or $10 for a student. For more information, contact Olson at firstname.lastname@example.org, or 731-9801.
