Becky Gillette, Audubon’s Southwest Regional Director, will present the last bird identification training session in preparation for Weminuche Audubon’s second annual Christmas Bird Count at 6:30 p.m. in the South Conference Room at the Ross Aragon Community Center.

The annual Christmas Bird Count is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 15.

The Wednesday session will be a good opportunity to ask questions, to be sure you have the necessary paperwork, to review the details of what happens on CBC day, and to know how to properly fill out and submit your bird data.

The last session also gives you one more opportunity to learn about local winter birds and to decide to becme involved in the CBC. By the way, it isn’t necessary that you attended the three previous sessions in order to come to this last one.

If you can’t spend the day birding on foot or by car on Dec. 15, consider counting birds at your feeders for an hour or two, then submitting that data. There are many ways to be a part of the CBC.
