Temps up, but a chance for rain looms

Not a drop of rain fell in the last week, so we all had ample time to get outside and soak up the sun (which, for some of us, translates into very painful sunburns).

Yet, while the highs for next week will reach into the 90s and we can expect more hot days and sunshine, be prepared to break out that tried and true quip: “If you don’t like the weather in Colorado, wait five minutes.”

The temperatures are expected to hit a high point of 93 degrees on Saturday, but the weather may turn as a chance for thunderstorms looms over Sunday afternoon.

Monday may hit a high of 90, but the chance for thunderstorms will persist, and the temperatures will dip back into the high 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Evening porch weather is also certainly upon us; the temperature is expected to drop no lower than 45 degrees this week. Saturday night should be the warmest, with an expected low of 49, although some clouds may start creeping in that evening.

And while the gale force winds are behind us for now, expect some calm winds and breezes, with gusts as high as 25 mph tonight.

The weather may take a few turns this week, so use the brief interludes between sunshine wisely — perhaps by staying inside and assuaging last week’s sunburn?
