The family of Paul Lerno are saddened to announce Paul Lerno’s death in Pagosa Springs, Colo., on Sept. 14, 2023. He was 85 years young. Paul was born in Garden Grove, Calif., on May 26, 1938, to George and Leora Lerno. Although we are sad for his leaving us, we are comforted to know he is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Anyone who knew Paul knew how much he loved Jesus and his wife, Linda, with his whole heart. If you had the privilege to talk to him you knew that he would know everything about you before the conversation ended; he truly cared about the people he talked to. Paul spent his career as a teacher and principal in Julian, Calif., then retired to take up ranching in the Allison/Tiffany area of Colorado. His students knew him to be a fair and caring teacher, and we all knew him to be a loving and hardworking man. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughters, Laura Rand and Brenda Wanket; his sister, Dorothy; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. We will celebrate his life on Saturday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m. at Centerpoint Church, 2750 Cornerstone Drive, Pagosa Springs, Colo.
