Adult Hunter Education Classes. Adult (18 and over) hunter education classes will be held at the Pagosa Springs Community Center, South Conference Room, 451 Hot Springs Blvd. (next to Town Hall), at 6-9 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and 8 a.m. until noon Saturdays. Students must attend each session. Class size will not be limited, and no pre-registration is required unless you need accommodations due to a disability.

Aviation Venture Crew. The local aviation group for teens will host an afternoon program, 2-4 p.m., at the library for teens and adults. Two speakers will offer short, flight-related presentations and refreshments will be served. After the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to try out various online aviation resources on the library computers, including the flight simulator.

Shamrock Shuffle. 5 k and 1 mile fun runs to benefit GECKO and Country Kids With Cancer. This event will be held at the Pagosa Brewing Company, at 118 N. Pagosa Blvd. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. Entry is $15 for the 5 k and free for the 1 mile fun run. There will be grand prizes for overall male and female adult and youth categories, a prize for best costume, and great raffle prizes. Hope for Haiti. In an effort to continue with assistance to the Haiti people, Community United Methodist Church will host “Hope For Haiti”, at 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to come learn more about the history, geography and customs of Haiti. This will be a potluck family event with food, games, music, a video on Haiti and worship.

Skijoring. Free harness training. Pagosa Nordic Club and Good Dog Outfitters will sponsor a free event from 10:30 a.m.-noon at the West Fork trailhead. Learn the basics of how to train your dog to pull you on skis, bike or sled. You will need to bring a skijor type harness and two short leashes. This clinic will be fun and informative with plenty of hands on time with your dog. Friendly dogs only, please. If you have any questions, contact Jennifer at 264-9358.

Mountain High Gardeners. The Mountain High Gardeners meet each third Wednesday of the month at 10 a.m. at the Extension Building. Anyone interested in learning about high altitude gardening is invited to join the club. Dues are $5 per year. This month’s meeting will be about soil testing and fertilizing. Bill Nobles, the Archuleta County Extension agent will be the speaker. There will also be a seed exchange. Please bring extra seeds you have collected or plant cuttings. A new group will form in Pagosa Springs on April 2. the group will meet at the Senior Center from 1 to 2 p.m. This will be a safe and supportive group where you can share your stories and be nurtured and supported.
