Pagosa Springs is home to two new restaurants and both have jumped right in with community service, supporting the community by accepting United Way Dining Certificates.
Owners of On the Rocks at the Pagosa Brew Pub, Bill Thacker, and Smokin’ Joe’s Unreal BBQ, Maureen McCabe, are eager to be involved in contributing to the 18 local organizations helped by United Way.
These two restaurants join the sustained efforts of A Chivalrous Shark, Alley House Grille, Bacci, Bear Creek, Boss Hogg’s, Boulder Coffee, Buffalo Inn, Cafe Colorado, Chavolo’s, Chimney Rock, DSP Pizza, Elkhorn, Farrago, Higher Grounds Coffee, Kip’s, Nello’s, Pagosa Baking, Pagosa Brewing, Pagosa Peaks Pizza, Plaza Grille, Ramon’s, Shang Hai, Thai Chilie, The Pines and The Rose. Also new this year are the Backroom Wine Bar, Coyote Moon and Two Chicks and a Hippy.
Purchasers of the dining certificates now have 30 independently-owned, local restaurants to choose from. Certificates cost $20 and are redeemable at any of the 30 restaurants for the full $20 value.
For every certificate accepted, the restaurant is donating $4 back to United Way.
Certificates are available at the Ross Aragon Community Center, the Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center and the PLPOA Recreation Center — all United Way Partners — and at the United Way office donated by and located at Jann Pitcher Real Estate.
