Colorado Congressman Scott Tipton is encouraging people to support local businesses on “Small Business Saturday” (Nov. 24).
Tipton, who chairs the House Small Business Subcommittee on Energy, Agriculture and Trade, is a cosponsor of a House Resolution (H. Res. 793) expressing support for the designation of a “Small Business Saturday” and supporting efforts to increase awareness of the value of locally owned small businesses.
“Small businesses are responsible for the creation of seven out of ten new jobs (on average) in this country, and are vital to our economic recovery. Small Business Saturday is a great way to get a jump on holiday shopping while supporting these community businesses, stimulating the local economy, and strengthening Main Street,” Tipton said.
