The Pagosa Springs Community Choir is rehearsing for it’s annual Christmas Concert to be presented Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 in the high school auditorium.
The Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 concerts are at 7 p.m. and the Dec. 2 concert is a matinee at 4 p.m.
A talented group of more than 60 singers, the choir members vary in age from teens to seniors. The choir is directed by Dan Burch and accompanied by Venita Burch. Several of the selections include solos that will warm your hearts.
As in previous years, the concert will be a blend of music styles, all celebrating the Christmas season. The religious numbers include the inspirational selections “Gloria Fanfare,” “Great is Our Joy,” and “Joy to The World.” Secular selections like “It’s Beginning to Look Like Christmas” and “Christmas Is the Best Time of the Year” will also be part of the program.
The Jazz Ensemble will provide a change of pace with a medley entitled “Christmas Jazz II.” As is tradition, the concert will end with the “Hallelujah Chorus.”
Join us to get your holiday season off to a joyful start.
All concerts are free and open to the public. However, the choir is always grateful for donations to help support the music programs in our public schools.
