Rollergirls’ Mash-Up in the Park to benefit food banks

Calling all skaters, derby fans and food drive supporters. Come support Wheels 4 Meals at RIP’s Mash-Up in the Park.

On Saturday, Sept. 29, Rollergirls In Pagosa will host their first annual community food drive/ roller derby mash-up event at South Park, located on South 8th Street in downtown Pagosa Springs.

Come watch your local rollergirls and skaters from the surrounding area compete in a food drive scrimmage. One donated canned good item gets one person in to the event. Skaters start warm up at noon and the game begins at 1 p.m.

RIP’s Wheels 4 Meals Mash Up is sure to be a good time. This family-fun rollerskating event will consist of skaters from Pagosa and surrounding communities like Salida, Cortez, Farmington and Los Alamos in a bout to benefit community food bank operations. Come support these ladies while they entertain you with their wheelin’ can opener hits and butt-kicking moves. Cheer them on as they race around the derby track at South Park (the old skate park). There will be plenty of great food, drinks, music and fun, plus RIP’s roller derby extravaganza. All ages are welcome. Please join Rollergirls In Pagosa and help us fill our local food banks for the upcoming holiday season.

Awards will be presented and a park afterparty will follow.
