Members of the Pagosa Springs Photography Club invite the public to their artists’ reception and exhibit opening for their annual juried show.
The event will be held Sept. 12 at Pagosa Photography Studio and Gallery, 480 San Juan St. (across from the county courthouse) 5 to 7 p.m.
This year, 12 local artists submitted 60 entries and 36 photos were juried into the exhibit. Paul Boyer, of Durango, juried this year’s show and selected the entries for first-, second- and third-place awards. Paul also juried the past five photo exhibits at the Archuleta County Fair.
At the opening, there will be an award of $100 for the first-place photo, $75 for second place and $50 for third place.
Please join the artists for this event (there is no charge).
Accepted prints are mounted per a standard artist presentation format: black frame and a white or black mat with maximum framed artwork width no greater than 26 inches and minimum print size of 80 square inches. The juried photos will be for sale at reasonable prices during the exhibit which runs from Sept. 12 to Oct. 10.
The Photography Club meets the second Wednesday of each month from September through May at 6 p.m. at Shy Rabbit Contemporary Arts. Photography enthusiasts are welcome to attend the first meeting at no charge. If interested, you are invited to join for annual dues of just $20 for individuals, $30 for family or $10 for student membership.
