Police department to participate in Labor Day DUI enforcement program

The Pagosa Springs Police Department is participating in the 2012 Labor Day National Crackdown/High Visibility Impaired Driving Enforcement (HVIDE) campaign.

Officers will increase patrols for the enforcement period starting Aug. 17 through Sept. 4.

National traffic studies confirm that increased patrols provide a, “risk of apprehension” thereby reducing the number of impaired driving traffic crashes.

The Pagosa Springs Police department wants to remind everyone that if they observe a driver they believe to be impaired to contact the Archuleta County Combined Dispatch Center at 731-2160 or dial 911.
