SHY RABBIT Contemporary Arts is currently featuring over 100 fine art prints, paintings, original ceramics and reanimated animal skulls by select gallery artists.
Established in 2004 by Pagosa Springs’ residents D. Michael and Denise Coffee, SHY RABBIT has presented nearly 40 exhibitions to date, showcasing the works of emerging regional artists and established, nationally-recognized artists.
This hidden treasure is located off the beaten path on the west end of Pagosa Springs in a wooded commercial district, in a fully renovated auto-repair shop.
SHY RABBIT is open to the public Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at no charge.
The expansive 4,000 square-foot arts center houses a working ceramic studio and fine art gallery, two mixed media workshops and two rotating exhibition spaces.
Visitors are invited to tour SHY RABBIT at their leisure and to take in all that it has to offer.
Workshops are offered year-round in ceramics and printmaking.
Professional artist development courses are also available. Coffee has been teaching these classes since their inception in 2007 and continues to draw in large numbers of new and repeat students from throughout the country.
Coffee’s fine art monotypes and sculptural and functional ceramics have been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions, and are included in dozens of national and international private and public collections.
