Forest health and the Stollsteimer Creek Watershed

The public is invited to attend a meeting in Aspen Springs on Wednesday, Aug. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Pavillion on Ute Drive, to discuss plans for fire mitigation and creek restoration in the Stollsteimer Creek Watershed.

The Natural Resource Conservation Service, San Juan Conservation District, Colorado State Forest Service, U.S. Forest Service, Pagosa Lakes Property Owner’s Association, FireWise of Southwest Colorado and others have been working collaboratively to assess the state of the creek and the forests that are within this important watershed.

Come join us to discuss what we can do to protect our lives and property from wildfire and safeguard our water source for much of the county. Speakers from the partner groups will be there. We need your ideas, too.

Food will be served. There is no charge.
