Vacation Bible School: ‘Race for the Gold’

“Race For The Gold” is the theme for Vacation Bible School at the Church of Christ.

Lessons will encourage the students to run the race of life and gain tools that will help them to cross the finish line as a winner. Attributes studied include obedience, faith, perseverance, courage and focus. Each day children actively engage in the Bible stories as they come to life with acting, puppets, games, quizzes, songs and crafts. Refreshments are served daily.

The annual free Vacation Bible School is July 23-27 from 9:30–11:30 a.m. There will be classes for 2 year-olds through eighth grades at the church building located at 277 Lewis St. The youth group from Woodward, Okla., returns to help with VBS and work alongside the members at the Pagosa Springs church.

On Wednesday evening, the children put on a program demonstrating the things they have learned in VBS. Vacation Bible School concludes on Friday with a hot dog picnic at South Park on 8th Street. Parents, family and friends are invited to those activities as well as being encouraged to visit the daily classes at anytime.

Transportation to VBS is provided in busses and vans. For the stop nearest you and time of pick up in your area or for more information call the church office at 264-2552 or Dorman Diller, minister, at 264-4454.

We would be delighted for your children to attend the free Vacation Bible School. Enrollment forms may be found in the paper or posted around town. Make plans now for your children to attend and “Race for the Gold.”
