Chimney Rock Interpretive Association (CRIA) has reinstated the 9:30 a.m. guided tour that had been cancelled due to early morning smoke in the area from nearby forest fires.
Guided tours are available at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., 1 and 2 p.m., unless there is extreme heat or other unsafe weather conditions.
Be advised that the afternoon tours may be cancelled due to lightning.
Call the visitor cabin regarding your tour at 883-5359 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. before driving to the site.
CRIA also offers self-guided tours on the Great Kiva Trail from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. (does not include high ridge trail to Great House).
Guided walking tours are conducted in season (May 15 to Sept. 30) daily and typically average 2 1/2 hours. Bring water, hat, sunscreen, bug repellant and good walking shoes for the rough Great House trail.
Reservations are required for groups of 10 or more.
