Get out of the heat, use the center gym

Do you want to play basketball, dodgeball, walk, ride or play, but it’s just too hot outside?

We have a solution for you.

Come to the community center and use our gym; Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m.

We have basketballs, dodgeballs and volleyballs available. Bring some friends and get out of the heat.

Free programs

Mah Jongg. Tuesdays, 1-3 p.m. Call the center with any questions, 264-4152.

Pickleball. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8-10 a.m. If you need a pickleball fix, join us. Loaner paddles are available. If you would like to learn the game of pickleball, join us from 9-10 a.m. to learn this fun and exciting game. Contact Fran if you have any questions, 884-3184.

Tai Chi. No experience is necessary. Join instructors Pam Kircher and Anna O’Reilly. Classes are Wednesdays, 11 a.m.-noon. Please wear flat-soled shoes and bring water. Class is open to everyone.

Duplicate Bridge. Every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30-10 p.m. Call Stan, 731-2217, or e-mail Stan at sunset1310@aol.com.

Pagosa Bridge 4 Fun. Mondays, 12:30-4 p.m. For more information, contact the community center, 264-4152.

Hoopsters. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8-9 a.m. Warren and the guys are waiting for you to come out and play. They will play with just about anyone. The Hoopsters are a great group of guys getting out there twice a week for a good game of b-ball.

Yoga. Thursdays, 10-11 a.m. and Tuesdays, 10-11:30 a.m. Come, rejuvenate with us. Please bring a mat or towel. Call the center with questions, 264-4152.

Meditation on the Breath. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11-11:30 a.m. Call the center for information.

Strength and Flexibility. Mondays and Wednesdays 10-11 a.m. Please bring a mat or towel. Call Helena for information, 731-5529.

Belly Dancing. 1-2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. All ages and levels welcome. Come learn this beautiful art; it is great exercise and lots of fun. Contact Carla for more information, 731-3117.

Dulcimer. The dulcimer is an entry folk instrument, not as difficult as the guitar to learn. If you would like to learn to play this instrument come on Wednesdays 2:30-3:30 p.m. Call the center for information at 264-4152.

Dodge ball. Kids of all ages are invited to the center to play open court dodge ball on Fridays, 1-3 p.m. June-August. Call the center for more information, 264-4152.

The Ross Aragon Community Center has the space you are looking for. We have reasonably priced rooms to meet your event needs. Our rates range from $6 to $90 per hour. Room sizes for 20, 40, 50, 90 or 500 people.

The community center hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday by appointment only.
