PSCA Summer Concert Series, a celebration of diversity

A celebration of diversity is the hallmark of the PSCA Summer Concert Series.

An awe-inspiring spectrum of music — July 10 through Aug. 28 — features a potpourri of artists from Woodstock hero Country Joe McDonald (legendary leader of the ’60s rock band Country Joe and the Fish) to Paris prima donna Cherise Lukow, and includes an impressive array of classical, jazz, world music and bluegrass performers soon coming to the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts.

Kicking off the PSCA Summer Concert Series, a concert starring Larry Elginer will feature a mesmerizing program of jazz and classical music, with the virtuosic trumpet playing and versatile singing of a man well known as a Pagosa cultural treasure and a guiding light in the emergence of Pagosa as a true performing arts center. Celebrity pianist John Graves, world-class percussionist D.C. Duncan and a colorful cast of local luminaries will be on hand for an unforgettable experience with an inspiring arts leader.

High energy, high mountain bluegrass is a sophisticated approach to a truly American musical genre performed by an off-the-charts ensemble. Jeff Scroggins and Colorado is a consummate bluegrass group with incredible instrumental acrobatics, superlative vocals, engaging stage presence and audience rapport.

The theater at the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts provides a wonderful place for a comfortable listening experience. Melt into a cushy seat and enjoy being in the presence of a professional theater enhanced by professional lighting and listen to the elegant sounds of music masterfully supported by the artistry of local sound engineer Jeffrey Heintzleman.
