Larry Elginer featured at PSCA Summer Concert Series

A fortuitous collaboration between the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts and Elation Center for the Arts brings forth an awe-inspiring spectrum of music, when colorful soundscapes emanate from the PSCA Summer Concert Series, July 10-Aug. 28.

Larry Elginer is a Pagosa cultural treasure and a guiding light in the emergence of Pagosa as a true performing arts center. As musician, comedian, actor, writer, composer and photographer, Elginer’s seemingly boundless creative energies find many avenues of expression.

Elginer’s concert at the center will feature his virtuosic trumpet playing and versatile singing in a mesmerizing program of jazz and classical music. Accompanying Elginer will be pianist John Graves, flautist Jessica Peterson, percussionist D.C. Duncan, bassist Dan Fitzpatrick, pianist Venita Burch, guitarist Carl Mori, singer June Marquez and cello banjoist Paul Roberts.

Larry Elginer is an inspiring community arts leader, and his performance at PSAC will offer a rare glimpse into the broad spectrum of his artistry. Join us when Larry Elginer and his cast of local luminaries kick off eight weeks of fine arts performances at the PSCA Summer Concert Series.

July 17

“A Fiesta of Mexican and Caribbean Melodies” by the Chicago Marimba Ensemble.

July 23-24

Woodstock icon Country Joe McDonald..

Legendary rock star and leader of Country Joe and the Fish sings great songs of the ’60s.

July 31

“Intoxicating Melodies from Brazil, Spain, Latin America and Africa.”

Singer/songwriter Andrew Dahl-Bredine offers up a mesmerizing potpourri of songs.

Aug. 7

“A World of Music.”

Multi-instrumentalists Carla Roberts and Paul Roberts perform exotic music from around the globe. Special guests include Matthew and Tifffany Brunson and colorful dancers.

Aug. 14

“Cool to Caliente!”

Jessica Peterson performs flute music of the Americas accompanied by pianists Harvey Schwartz and Sally Neel.

Aug. 21

“Jeff Scroggins and Colorado.”

High-energy, high-mountain bluegrass with award-winning musicians.

Aug. 28

“Cherise Lukow.”

A highly gifted opera starlet conveys emotions with rare artistic beauty.
