“A Journey of Life” is the theme for this weekend’s concert being presented by the Pagosa Springs Community Choir. Performances are scheduled for June 1, 2 and 3, in the high school auditorium. The June 1 and 2 concerts are at 7 p.m., and the June 3 concert is a matinee at 4 p.m.
The concert will have something for everyone as the music focuses on the journey that we all take through life. The spiritual sounds of “Lean on Me” and “Walk a Mile” are sure to have toes tapping and fingers snapping. Patriotic emotions will be stirred by a medley entitled “An American Celebration.”
A moving poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson set to music entitled “A Farewell” and a tribute to fathers named “Homage” will both touch the heart. The concert will close with “A Blessing,” which is a musical version of traditional Irish blessing.
You are invited to join the choir for this joyous, inspirational and entertaining start to your summer. All concerts are free and open to the public. However, the choir always welcomes donations to help support their music scholarships and the music programs in our public schools.
