Pagosa Springs Youth Center summer camp, June through August

The Pagosa Springs Youth Center summer camp director this year is Jennifer Martin and we are excited to have her and her staff plan themes and activities each week.

Jennifer has run her own childcare program and gymnastics camp. She is enthusiastic and looks forward to sharing her experiences with children at the PSYC.

The day camp will run from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The cost is $50 a week or $15 a day. A onetime fee of $15 is due upon registration

Campers will bring their lunch, but we will supply snacks.

The PSYC has a childcare license and we are looking forward to having the children of the community spend some quality time learning new things and having fun in a safe environment.

A second opportunity this summer at the Youth Center is the art program taught by Soledad — “Soledad’s Little Angels” — Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.–1 p.m., with lunch included.

The students can also take Spanish lessons and, at the end of the program, there will be an art show and Spanish skit by the students. Each week, the students will use different techniques and materials, from charcoal to pastels. There is a $25 registration fee and the cost of the camp is $15 a day or $60 a week. There is a discounted fee for a month’s attendance or for the whole summer.

Our teens will have the opportunity to visit the center over the summer in the evening. Staff will be available three nights a week, Wednesday-Friday, with evening hours to be announced at the year-end party at Centennial Park on Friday, May 25, with DJ Dude Mike Hayward, from 2-5 p.m.

Grace Church is holding its summer vacation bible school at PSYC June 4-7 from 6-8 p.m. with a Sonrise, National Park theme. Grace Church invites children, preschool through sixth grade, to attend. Call to register at 731-6200.

Call the Youth Center for details and registration forms at 264-5030.
