On Sunday, May 13, the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will celebrate Mother’s Day with a presentation entitled “The Great Mother,” presented by Debra Travis, program director of Tara Mandala Retreat Center.
Travis explains, “From the personal to the collective, from the individual to the archetypal, ‘Mother Energy’ is an integral and important part of all of our lives. On this Mother’s Day, we will explore the ways that this energy guides us, supports us, and nurtures us in our families, in our communities, and on our spiritual paths.”
Debra is a frequent and treasured speaker at the Pagosah UU Fellowship. She is a psychotherapist by training and has been on the Buddhist path since 1982. For over two decades she studied and practiced in the Ravadan Buddhist tradition and taught meditation classes based on the Buddha’s teachings of The Four Foundations of Mindfulness.
Josephine Doig, who is a practicing Tibetan Buddhist and currently runs the Bookstore at Tara Mandala, will be the vocalist for this service. She plays several musical instruments and writes her own music.
The service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, and child care will be provided. The address is Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the fire atation, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign.
