Southwest Light and Learning’s movie of the month: ‘Finding Joe’

“We must be willing to get rid of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.” — Joseph Campbell.

“Finding Joe” is an advocacy film about the work of myth scholar Joseph Campbell, who famously inspired “Star Wars.”

Briefly, “Finding Joe” is about what Joseph Campbell calls the “hero’s journey.” More importantly, it’s about the hero’s journey that we are all taking. It is about overcoming obstacles and slaying the dragons in your path. It is about finding the treasures within yourself and returning to share it with those you love. In the most sincere way it is about becoming the hero of your own life.

“Finding Joe” explores how the hero’s journey is relevant and essential in today’s world. It provides a narrative for how to live a fully realized life.

“Follow your Bliss.”
