For 19 years, Hands On Arts Camp has been an established summer program for local kids.
Check out what we are doing this summer on our website, with loads of pictures and information, at www.hands-on-artscamp.com.

Hands-On Arts Camp is sponsored by FolkWest and The Pagosa Springs High School.
The camp runs for three weeks in the month of June for students entering first grade through those in sixth grade, ages 7-12. Sessions will be held Monday through Thursday, June 11–June 28. New time is from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Check-in and dropoff time is 8:30-9 a.m. and classes begin at 9.
The new location for the camp is at Pagosa Springs High School’s art room. Tuition is $120 per week and that includes a lab fee. Daily dropoff rate is $35. Class limit is 20 students per week.
Lisa Brown has had the joy of teaching for 23 years. She currently teaches art K-6 in Ignacio and has resided in Pagosa for 17 years.
Tessie Garcia has been teaching art at Pagosa Springs Elementary School for 19 years. Tessie and Lisa have been teaching together for Summer Arts Camp for 17 years.
Karen Siclair, the elementary school’s art aide, will teach the first week of camp with Tessie.
The goal of the program is to provide a fun, nurturing and creative experience for your child, no matter what age or skill level. They will learn new techniques, extend their understanding of art concepts, build self-confidence, all while being encouraged to experiment, play and express themselves freely.
The first week, kids will be exposed to many types of art creation such as: clay, fiber arts, drawing and painting classes. For further weekly class updates, check out hands-on arts camp/facebook and weekly articles.
Students need to “dress for mess” and wear comfortable, older clothes. They need to bring a snack, water, lunch and a good Art-i-tude!
