Adult basketball tournaments begin next week

This year’s adult men’s basketball tournaments will begin next week.

All games will be played in the middle school gymnasiums; this year’s tournament format is single elimination.

Team managers are reminded that team members who have not participated in at least three regular-season games will not be permitted to play in the tournament. Also, roster additions will not be permitted for the tournaments.

The men’s competitive league tournament will begin Monday. The men’s recreation league tournament will begin Wednesday. Brackets outlining each league’s tournament schedule will be posted on the recreation department page at Team managers will also be contacted with game times and locations.

Youth baseball

Registration for this year’s youth baseball leagues will run through Friday, May 4.

The recreation office is accepting registrations for coach-pitch division (ages 6, 7 and 8), and the 9- and 10-year-old division. The office is also accepting registrations for the 11-12 division, but if the number of registrations submitted is not sufficient to support a league in this age bracket, registration fees may be refunded and formal league play may be canceled.

Registrations are available at the recreation office in Town Hall and are also available for download through the recreation department link at Registrations will be disbursed to local schools, as well. All registrations should be submitted to the recreation office.

Cost to participate in the program is $30 per player and $15 for each additional child in the same family who participates. Team coaches and sponsors are needed and appreciated.

The season is tentatively scheduled to begin in late May and should run through early July; for more information, call the recreation office at 264-4151, Ext. 231 or 232.


Registration for this year’s tee ball league has ended and rosters are being finalized.

Whenever feasible, the recreation department will do its best to ensure parents’ requests to have their youngsters placed with a particular coach or player are honored; however, parents are reminded that not all requests can be guaranteed.

As soon as teams are finalized, coaches will be contacted with roster information. Games are tentatively scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays and will be played outside, weather permitting. Games will not begin until the first week of May.
