Seeds of Learning receives Daniels Fund grant

Seeds of Learning is pleased to announce it has received a grant from the Daniels Fund in the amount of $6,000 for classroom equipment and materials.

Seeds of Learning is a stand-alone, nonprofit located in the heart of Pagosa Springs, dedicated to providing high quality early care and education to children 18 months through age 5, regardless of income or family structure.

“This grant will enable our program to purchase new classroom materials. Because we are now NAEYC accredited, we have a high quality standard to maintain. We have not purchased classroom materials since 2007 so it’s time, actually, it’s past time. I don’t know who’s more excited, the teachers or the kiddos.” said Lynne Bridges, executive director of Seeds of Learning.

Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television known for his kindness and generosity to those in need, established the Daniels Fund to provide grants and scholarships in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. For more information, please visit

The Daniels Fund has supported Seeds of Learning for over 10 years. They gave the first matching grant in 2003 to build the new facility. They continue to support Seeds in many ways, last year giving money for the new playgrounds.
