Habitat for Humanity hosts Recycled Arts Show

Celebrate Earth Day with Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County as we host our first annual Recycled Arts Show on April 20 and 21 at the Native Trails building located next to Boss Hogg’s Restaurant.

Local artists from a variety of backgrounds will be displaying and selling their original artwork.

Recycled artwork is created from previously used items, such as construction scraps, earth materials and trash. Habitat for Humanity is concerned about recycling our construction waste and tries to reuse or recycle as much material as possible. Through this event, we have found a unique opportunity to partner with local artists while raising funds to support our 2012 building programs.

On Friday, April 20, we will be hosting a gallery opening and Meet the Artists event. Enjoy an evening filled with incredible recycled artwork and music made and performed by Pagosa’s very own artists. Sample hors d’oeuvres from local caterers and sip Habitat’s Home Built Blend coffee roasted by Luna Roasters as well as other refreshments. Bid on a variety of packages at the silent auction. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased in advance at the Habitat for Humanity office and the Chamber of Commerce or can be purchased at the door.

On Saturday, April 21, the public is invited to experience the art gallery and purchase artwork from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $2 or two cans of food for the local food banks. Admission for families if $5.

Buy your tickets now, before they sell out. To purchase tickets and for more information, call Cindi Galabota at 264-6960 or visit our website at
