The Pagosa Springs Middle School Leadership Team held a “Pack the Pickup” food drive last week. The food drive ended at City Market on Saturday and our pickup truck was truly packed with nonperishable groceries. The donated food was given to Pagosa Outreach Connection food banks.
The seventh and eighth grade Leadership team wishes to thank City Market and every shopper who made a donation to “Pack the Pickup.” Thank you all.
Heart Beat Ball
The annual Heart Beat Ball was a wonderful success. The board would like to especially thank Tari Woods for her work, a second year in a row, in securing the sponsors and volunteers to put on such a wonderful evening. The event was held at the Pagosa Lodge and the Patel family hosted a wonderful evening. DJ Cowboy Dusty donated his time and talent so all could dance the night away, and we can’t forget our entertaining live auctioneers Bob Hite and Steve Levy with assistants Debra Ferrari and Karol Jackson.
The food samplings from “around town” were enjoyed by all. ?Many thanks to the participating restaurants and caterers: ?Alley House Grille, Boss Hogg’s, Cafe Colorado, Christine’s Cuisine, Colorado Cowboy Catering, Farrago Market Cafe, Kip’s Grill and Cantina, Old Town Market Deli and Catering, Pagosa Mountain Coffee Roasting Company, Plaza Grill, Sweets and Such, The Pines Restaurant at the Pagosa Golf Course, and Make Your Day Cafe located inside the Pagosa Springs Medical Center.
Gloria Smith headed up the decorating committee and the results transformed?the dance floor into a place where “the beat still goes on.” ?Committee volunteers included Nancy Ford, Linda Kirsher, Mike McHaffey, Dianna Millan and Don Miners. Other event organizers included Karen Bynam, Andra Burns, Evelyn Jones, Pam Kircher, Linda Kushner, Tanis Ramsperger, Tozi Rubin, Claire Skaggs, Dale and Betty Swicker, and Frances Wholf. We can’t forget our bartenders Paul Boyd and Tom Schoemig, who kept the bar beat going.
There were over 40 businesses and organizations that provided silent auction items. Thank you for your participation in an evening that was fun for the entire community and raised money for the new state-of-the-art ambulance for the Pagosa Springs Medical Center. Look for the Heart Beat Ball in 2013!
Dr. Mary Fisher Medical Foundation Board
A quick thank you to all who surprised us and participated in a “cash mob” for Home Again last Tuesday. It goes to show, yet again, what a truly supportive and generous community we are lucky enough to be a part of. All of our customers are truly a gift!
