Mountain View Homemakers will meet at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, in the Extension Building at the fairgrounds.
The first half-hour is for the members and guests to visit and get the covered dish lunch set up. Following the Homemaker’s prayer, lunch will begin promptly at noon.
The program will begin at about 12:30 p.m. and will be presented by Lvonne Wilson, owner of two local retail businesses. Her topic will be “Let’s Think Spring.” Since she is an expert on table settings and home decoration, we are really looking forward to Lvonne being with us.
Any woman interested in finding out more about the organization, or who would like to join us in hearing this interesting presentation, is welcome to attend. Visitors are not expected to bring food. A short business meeting will follow.
The Homemakers organization is a monthly gathering of women who are interested in making the lives of their families and their community more livable. The meetings include lunch and either enlightening speakers or a hands-on community project.
One auction fund-raiser every summer results in a pool of money from which contributions to eight or nine local non-profit efforts are made. The members do their best to learn about all potential recipients and to choose well from the many possibilities.
There are no dues or membership requirements and every interested woman will be welcomed.
