Pagosa Springs Quad Challenge set for March 3

The Pagosa Nordic Club is preparing for the final weekend of races for the season with the 1st annual Pagosa Springs Quad Challenge set for March 3.

Last year, many athletes from around the area participated in the first-ever event and more are expected for the second go-round.

This year’s Quad Challenge includes a 5k Classic X-C Ski or 10k Skate Ski, 3k (feels like 5k) Road Run, 22k Road Bike and a 1k swim.

Registration is $30 per person for solo racers or each team member up to four, and includes a soaking pass to The Springs Resort.

Participants will park at the Dr. Mary Fisher Park and meet at the Chamber of Commerce for registration and equipment shuttles at 8 a.m.

The 5k and 10k X-C Ski starts at 9 a.m. at the West Fork Nordic trails. Runners then head from the ski trailhead to Treasure Falls and then back west to the chain station along the north shoulder of U.S. 160 to finish a 3k run. At that point, the road bike portion begins and heads 22k back to town and the event ends with a 1k swim in The Springs Resort pool.

Challenge yourself and your friends to participate in the Pagosa Springs Quad.

Course monitors are still needed. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering some time on the course.
