Annual observance of Lent to begin at Our Savior Lutheran Church

Traditionally, Lent has been a time of self denial or fasting that is intended to focus our attention on the cross of Christ.

Martin Luther tells us, “Fasting and bodily preparation are certain fine outward training,” but it is by no means directed at hearing the Word of God.

Our Savior Lutheran Church, as part of our annual observance of Lent, will begin our midweek services on Wednesday, Feb. 29, and they will run until Wednesday, March 28.

We will have convenience meals beginning at 5:30 p.m., and the Vespers (evening prayer) service will begin at 7 p.m.

Our theme for these services will be, “The Suffering Servant: The Cross in the Old Testament.”

We invite all from the community to come and hear what Christ has done for you.

The church’s number is 731-4668. Please R.S.V.P. for the meals.
