Philip V. McLaughlin II (52), of North Liberty, Ind., passed away on Feb. 11, 2012. Phil is survived by his wife Carol Steele McLaughlin, children Michelle Worley, Monica Valdez, Dan Valdez, Rachel Melton, Philip V McLaughlin III, Neil Berger and Kevin T. McLaughlin. Phil was preceded in death by his father Neal P. McLaughlin and survived his mother Ann M. McLaughlin, brother Timothy P. McLaughlin, sisters, Maryann Farrington, Kathryn Gunsten and Karyn Edwards. Phil was blessed with 11 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Phil was also loved by many, many close friends.
Born in Rochester, N.H., Phil attended Nute High School in Milton, N.H., and graduated from Scottsdale High in Scottsdale, Ariz. Phil served proudly for six years in the United States Navy. Phil lived in Glendale, Ariz., for many years, from 2005-2010 in Pagosa Springs, and most recently North Liberty, Ind.
Phil was a master gardener and craftsman who loved the outdoors. We will all miss the kind, gentle man who loved us deeply.
Military honors services will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.
