Community Choir begins rehearsals next week

As spring approaches, the Pagosa Springs Community Choir begins singing next week.

Our first rehearsal is scheduled for Feb 21 in the high school band room.

We are again planning a concert filled with fun, inspirational music including “Glory, Glory Hallelujah,” “Simple Gifts,” “Summertime” and a patriotic medley entitled “American Celebration.”

The jazz ensemble will be singing two favorites — “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and “Fly Me to the Moon.”

Dan Burch is directing the choir again, and Venita Burch is our accompanist.

We look forward to all of our previous singers returning, but we also hope to have new members join us. If you enjoy singing and would like to join this very talented group, we look forward to meeting you.

The first rehearsal on Tuesday, Feb 21, begins at 6:15 p.m. for registration, and rehearsal is held from 7 to 9 p.m. Each member is requested to pay $20 for the cost of music and binders. Subsequent rehearsals are held each Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Concert dates are June 1, 2 and 3.
