Box and Ball Indoor Soccer Tournament benefits Destination ImagiNation

Attention Pagosa soccer fans: the second annual Box and Ball Soccer Tournament is this Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Pagosa Springs Middle School gyms.

Proceeds from the event benefit 35 Destination ImagiNation students’ spring travel expenses.

Students will be selling chocolate roses for Valentine’s Day. Destination ImagiNation parent volunteers will offer home-cooked concessions for breakfast and lunch. A silent auction will feature great deals on valuable items from local merchants. Bidding ends at 4 p.m.

DI students have sold Butter Braids frozen breads in recent weeks. Those breads will be delivered next week after the tournament.

Destination ImagiNation is an academic competition that teaches extreme creativity, teamwork and problem solving. This year, Pagosa Springs schools support six Destination ImagiNation teams. DI students range in age from fourth graders to seniors in high school. The school district sponsors our DI teams through the Colorado State Tournament in April. When a Pagosa team wins at the state level, they continue to compete by raising money for their registration and travel.
