United Way Ski Day at Wolf Creek Jan. 18

Come enjoy a fun day of skiing at Wolf Creek Ski Area. The whole mountain is open for adventure and excitement, so grab your skis or snowboard and join in for a day of fun.

Ski and save on Jan. 18. Adult lift tickets are just $44 and child/senior lift tickets are only $24. Wolf Creek is having a banner year, with fantastic powder and packed powder conditions.

When you buy a discounted ticket on United Way Ski Day, you help United Way reach the goal of $81,000 for the 2011/2012 campaign. Wolf Creek Ski Area donates $11 from every adult ticket and $5 from every child/senior ticket to the United Way campaign.

United Way in Archuleta County strives to positively impact the community by supporting 18 local agencies and programs that promote education, healthy lifestyles and self-reliance. An all-volunteer committee thoroughly reviews every application and visits each agency in order to better understand each program’s mission and ensure it is needed and effective. Funds raised by this campaign stay local and help our friends and neighbors.

United Way of Archuleta County is still working hard to reach our goal of $81,000. And you can help us raise needed funds for all of the following local organizations.

Education partners: Archuleta County Education Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girl Scouts of Colorado, Pagosa Waldorf Initiative, Seeds of Learning, Tri-County Head Start.

Self-reliance partners: American Red Cross Southwest Colorado Chapter, San Juan Basin Area on Aging (Archuleta County Senior Center), Archuleta County Victim Assistance Program, Habitat for Humanity of Archuleta County, Housing Solutions for the Southwest, Pagosa Outreach Connection, Pagosa Pregnancy Support Center, Southwest Conservation Corps, Volunteers of America Southwest Safehouse.

Health partners: Axis Health System, Southwest Smile Makers Dental Program of San Juan Basin Health Department, Promoting Prevention Coalition (Pagosa Springs Youth Center).

So, come enjoy the snow at Wolf Creek Ski Area for the day with United Way. Or please consider a donation to United Way.
