Outlaw Snowdown Music Festival this Friday, Saturday and Sunday

The Outlaw Snowdown, Pagosa’s new alt-country music festival, is this weekend.

The three-day show will be held in a heated tent turned honky tonk in Town Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 13-15.

Doors (and the bar) will open at 4 p.m. each day with the genre’s heavy-hitters taking the stage from 5-10 p.m.

Texas country chart toppers Jason Boland and Stoney Larue, along with Durango’s D.L. Marble, will play Friday night. The Supersuckers, Hellbound Glory and Lydia Loveless will rock the tent on Saturday (don’t fret, the Broncos versus Patriots playoff game will be played in the tent) and The Band of Heathens, Elizabeth Cook and The Ben Miller Band will shut ‘er down on Sunday.

In addition to the plethora of national acts ascending on Pagosa for the Outlaw Snowdown, attendees are invited to enjoy local talent like Chris Rapp, Brooks Lindner (Brooks-i) and Jared Payne and David Richter during après-ski sets at Kip’s Grill and Cantina from 3-5 p.m.

The Bear Creek Saloon — the official after-party headquarters of the Outlaw Snowdown — has live music starting at 10:30 p.m. each night. Supersuckers frontman, Eddie Spaghetti, will play Friday; The Statesboro Review, an Austin-based band reminiscent of The Back Crowes, will entertain the masses on Saturday and Tim Carroll — who has opened for The Ramones, is a Grand Ole Opry regular and is married to Elizabeth Cook — will close out the show on Sunday.

If you have a wristband for that evening’s Outlaw Snowdown show, entry is free.

Outlaw Snowdown tickets purchased by midnight Thursday, Jan. 12, are $39 for a single day and $99 for the three-day pass. They can be purchased online by visiting, over the phone by calling (888) 512-7469 or in person at Kip’s Grill and Cantina and the Bear Creek Saloon.

Tickets sold at the door will be $45 ($100 for the three-day pass if purchased Friday) — cash only. Food, drinks and merchandise in the tent will also be sold on a cash-only basis, so come prepared.
